Florence in 2 Days: A Tailored Itinerary
Quick answer: in two days in Florence, spend day one on the Duomo, the Accademia, the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio, and day two on Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce, the Medici Chapels, the Oltrarno and the Boboli Gardens.

Two days let you see Florence properly. This plan balances museums with walks, and it is the one our private guides at Tour Florence recommend most. If you only have one day, use our one-day Florence itinerary.
Day 1: the great Renaissance sights
Start at the Duomo and Giotto’s Bell Tower (see the official Duomo website for tickets), then walk to the Galleria dell’Accademia for Michelangelo’s David (official site). After lunch, spend the afternoon at the Uffizi (official site) and finish on the Ponte Vecchio.

Day 2 morning: Palazzo Vecchio and Santa Croce
Begin in Piazza della Signoria and visit Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence, then walk to the basilica of Santa Croce, where Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli are buried.

Day 2 midday: San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapels
Visit the Medici Chapels at San Lorenzo, where Michelangelo designed the New Sacristy, then eat near San Lorenzo Market or the Mercato Centrale.

Day 2 afternoon: the Oltrarno and the Boboli Gardens
Cross the river to the Oltrarno for artisan workshops, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. End the day at Piazzale Michelangelo for the sunset view.

Frequently asked questions
Is two days enough for Florence?
Yes. Two days cover the main museums, the Duomo, the Oltrarno and the best viewpoints without rushing.
Which day should you visit the Uffizi?
Visit the Uffizi on your first day, when you are fresh, and keep the second day for churches, gardens and the Oltrarno.
Can you add a day trip with two days?
With only two days we recommend staying in the city. A third day is ideal for Chianti or Siena.
